Description

AVES is a light card game that features set collection and hand management mechanics. In this game, players assume the role of pure white birds who collect fruit from a rainbow tree, earning beautiful colors for their feathers in the process.

To succeed in the game, players must manage their hand of cards carefully and trade fruit strategically. While the game requires only basic subtraction skills, it can be enjoyed by players of all ages. Adults can engage in deeper levels of thinking, scheming, and risk calculation to enhance their experience.

For advanced players seeking even more fun, AVES offers two additional modes: “Greedy Crows” and “Showdown!” These modes provide exciting new challenges to explore and enjoy.

Q & A

Q: If the card I play matches the difference between 2 cards on the fruit circle (e.g. play #2 between #3 and #5), can I draw a card at the bottom of the deck instead of taking the 2 cards?
A: If you place the card between the two cards, you can only take back the two cards. However, you can place it between other cards for which the difference doesn’t match (e.g. play #2 between #5 and #1), or play a different card instead, to draw a card from the bottom of the deck.

Q: What happens if the deck runs empty?
A: When the deck runs out of cards, the game immediately ends. If you have more than 7 cards in your hand, return 1 card back to the fruit circle. Now you may compare who has more colors in their hand. If it’s a tie, compare the sum of the number of fruits you have. If the number of fruits is still the same, you win together.

Q: What if I got a crow in my hand in the situation above?
A: The crow doesn’t count as a color, so when you compare the colors you have, remember to exclude the crow card.
